Assassin's Creed Reveals Surprising AoT Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre partnership that breaks traditional predictions, the game developer has unveiled an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Uncovered
According to the formal announcement, "A strange confrontation draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where whispers of banned rituals and terrifying changes reverberate through the shadows." The narrative introduces a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a hidden sect.
The adventure focuses on "strange trials and a monstrous adversary" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Locations and Changes
The teaser highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer ends with a powerful sequence showing a character, presumably the prisoner, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Additional Features
Players who finish the mission will receive an exclusive katana alongside multiple artifacts secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-themed outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe

Newest Free Story Content
This release also introduces the game's newest complimentary story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive skills: Naoe reveals a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a new environmental puzzle that may finally explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.

The series formerly featured a 2020 crossover story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
